Stellenbosch University offers a new M.Phil. Programme in the field of science and technology studies, with a focus on public science engagement. This field of study is ideal for people working at the interface between science and society, in places such as university research or communication offices, science councils, science centres and NGOs, who are interested in strengthening their theoretical knowledge and practical skills related to science-society interactions. It also provides a perfect stepping stone to doctoral studies in science communication.

The modular structure of the course makes it possible for participants to structure it as part-time study over a period of one or two years, without the need to be in Stellenbosch permanently. Applicants need to be in possession of an honours degree or equivalent postgraduate qualification at NQF level 8.
